Singing Toilet Roll, VegFest and Book Club

What a sad day! My Halloween singing toilet roll stopped singing. Emory put in new batteries, but it doesn't work. We've had it for four years so maybe the little thing had too much fun. I loved when people used the bathroom because the singing roll always shocked them.    We went to the food festival! It was so much fun. This is a Big Mac Daddy Roll. Vegan! So good and Emory got vegan mozzarella sticks. This was only our first meal. We ate all day long. I couldn't even list everything we snacked on and we even got food to bring home.   This is one of our FAVORITE donuts trucks. They are at all the events so we always get some donuts. Emory got me matcha and one with sprinkles. Yes! That doesn't even account for how much sugar we consumed. Oh-My-Goddess we had so much sugar I was shaking!   We never drop this much money in a weekend but it's been years since the festival had come through so we bought a few little extras to enjoy at home. Now! On to Sunday's ne

Doctor Visit, Starbucks Drinks and Writing

The doctor visit wasn't bad. He said I have  Temporomandibular disorders which is something that effects the jaw and gave me some medication for the pain which works really well. He said I shouldn't chew gum anymore and I can't eat anything that stretches my mouth like burgers. I'm a little bummed. I also took a blood test for my vitamins and thyroid which came back swimmingly good! I'm healthy despite being so whiny.  We went to Target and got ourselves a Starbucks inside the store and walked around. We found some many things that were UNNEEDED. We bought a new toy for Mozart which he hasn't been able to part with all day. We ended up getting things for jambalaya so we had a super good lunch (after we made it of course). I didn't look at the coffee which is good because I really can't contain myself.  I didn't realize it would be so much fun shopping and drinking coffee at the same time. I am so glad Target had their Halloween stuff out to look at

No Babysitter, Doctor Woes and Writing

Our window to get a babysitter has closed so we won't be doing Knotts Scary Farm this weekend. Our weekends are pretty booked until October, which I believe Emory has finally decided on where he wants to go for his birthday. As for me, I think I want to do the Jack-o-Lantern walk-through. They aren't selling tickets until the end of the month, but again, we're busy until the second week of October.  I'm finally seeing the doctor today which makes me nervous. I haven't seen them in two years so I have a lot of grievances to discuss. I'm thinking of asking for another blood test because the first one I got was super basic and I need to know what the full panel of tests say. I hate needles so that's another day of getting on panic medication which ruins the entire day for me. I'll only be able to test this Saturday. I should have made eye appointments this Saturday too. Nuts. We're working on a really hard puzzle. We have to put one piece in at a time

Weekend Halloween Plans, Doctor Appointments and Writing

We have so many plans for this month. We're waiting to see if Emory is going to get a job offer this week. He has two companies that he interviewed with and one might have weekend hours so that will put a huge damper on our plans. I want to go to Knott's Scary Farm this weekend, but we've waited so long to get our tickets they might be sold out. I'm finally making appointments to see my doctors. We need to make eye exams this month and I have to make a dentist appointment and I'm finally seeing my regular doctor about the pain in my jaw. I hate to add to my list of ailments so I'm not going to diagnosis myself, but it hurts to eat so I really need to see a specialist because I have the food festival coming up here shortly.  Emory thinks that when I fell and broke my wrist, that I hit my chin just right on the pavement and caused the pain in my jaw. We'll see what the doctor says about it. Finally went to the Spirit Store and looked at all their Halloween th

Halloween Goodies, Favorite Road Picture and Writing

I'm waiting for Target to put out their Halloween stuff. The bad thing is, every time we go window shopping we always bring things home. We really don't have the space for anything else, not even food. Plus we need to save some money since Emory is still looking for a job. I think the job market isn't as lucrative as the media wants to pretend. He has so much experience and yet, not the experience some of these companies are asking for. This is my favorite picture at the moment. I took this when we were driving to Arizona. We left pretty late hoping to miss out on traffic, but that didn't really work. Anyways, this was the sky and road. I really, really love the moon. Maybe it's the witch in me that's drawn to those types of things. Jeffrey is still in the hospital. It's not looking so good right now. Both communes have gone up there to visit and sit with him. He's a weak little ducky right now. I'm wondering how I can get the time off from work to

Arizona and Back, Reading and Writing

That was a quick trip to Arizona with about 7 hrs drive with the dogs. It smelled like rain and we got flash flood warnings, but we made it out to the commune about 1:30 am. We stayed at the commune and our dogs had such a great time. We call Ann's house the Doggy Spa because they get gourmet meals, exercise, rubs, etc. We had such a good time and traded puzzles.  We went to a few of the communes and visited Jeffrey in the hospital. He wasn't feeling well so we sat and talked and laughed. Steven found a really naughty gift bag for me to put Jeffrey's birthday gift in so I made Emory carry it. The guys thought it was hilarious. It's pretty funny but it made my cheeks red.  Our drive back to California kind of sucked. Up by the casinos it's always slow and I really, really, really had to use the bathroom so we got off and ended up sitting in traffic for an hour to get back on the freeway. I teased Emory that I could go get us Date Shakes and be back. They make really
