Duffy at Newport, Hitting Softballs and Writing

Watching:  Munsters (so cute) Eating: Something Green my cousin made sooooo good ❤😋 Reading:  Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Lemongrass We went up to Newport this last weekend. It was super neat on the duffy looking at the houses. It's a much busier atmosphere and my aunt says it's an even richer area than Oxnard. We did stop to use the restrooms and to look around a fancy hotel resort that an in-law wants to buy a spot at. I felt super underdressed, but my cousin says it makes everyone feel underdressed. We're talking about a 6,000$ a month resort surrounded by multi-million dollar homes. As cool as it is, I'm not that type of person. Win me over with a comfy cottage and an old (clean) mug filled with tea. I want moss under my feet and vines in my hair. I don't know the first thing about designer things. It was fun though! We had plenty to eat and drink while we rode the duffy and looked at all the yachts. I love the names people give their bo

Fancy Drinks, The Thrill of Haunted Houses and Pictures

It's been a great birthday come and gone! I met up with some people from the caravan and we had drinks, (2 a piece). We weren't sloshed and we chatted. Then the server brought me a treat, but I had to surrender it to the people who actually eat dairy and wheat because I think it was ice cream on top of a brownie. I was just thrilled by the candle!  Emory and I had enough time to run home and shower and get dressed for the Hollywood Horror Nights. The one thing I really wanted to see was Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I was not disappointed, however, I pride myself on being a little harder to scare than I actually was. I had tons of "boo" moments when I just jumped, screamed or cowered. Yes, I cowered.  This is the shirt Sue bought for me about two Halloweens ago. It's "Friends" with all the movie monsters. I really love this shirt and I got some great compliments on it. The only problem with Halloween Horror Nights was that it was so crowded, we waited

Rainy Days, Possible Rolling Blackouts and Writing

Watching:  She Hulk Eating: avocado sandwich  Reading:  Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Lemon Grass It was funny because it started raining Friday (not a lot, just a very heavy sprinkle) and my boss immediately whined because her hair is naturally curly and she straightens it. I have a straightener somewhere, but it takes so much time to do and I keep burning myself.  They were checking badges at work. I always wear mine so it was not a deal. There are so few of us in office, but maybe they want to make sure we belong on that floor. The whole time they checked my badge, my head kept saying, "food" because it's the day they bring in snacks. I could only have the oatmeal today. They also had nuts, but there was milk chocolate in the nuts so I figured someone else can take them. I need to bring a bowl to work so I can have the oatmeal while I'm working. Now that the cold weather is coming, I think I'll want snacks.  I believe it was last Thursday

Jamba Juice Pumpkin Smash, Ventura Beach and Writing

Watching:  Umma Eating: Watermelon Reading:  Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Apple Cinnamon Pumpkin Smash is back at Jamba Juice! Last year I only got it once before it was already removed from the menu. This year, I started early! Emory kept an eye on the menu so I had my first Pumpkin Smash of the year!  I gave in and bought pumpkin coffee. It's a big bag, which is excellent because it tastes so good. I might have a coffee addiction. I'm really trying to slow down my consumption.  Went to Ventura for the day and had a really nice time. We ended up visiting this little British import store that has tons of teas. It's expensive, but I bought myself a coconut tea and took a picture of two more teas I'd like to buy, but again, they are expensive, not that I have a lot of experience buying tea like this so I don't know what's a good price for it.  We went to a spice store next and I took some pictures of the salts and sent them to Farmer Bill to

Vegan Macchiatos, Body Chemistry and Writing

Watching:  Hard Kill Eating: Stir Fry Reading:  Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Apple Cinnamon Starbucks has a vegan Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. I don't know if I like Macchiato and Emory isn't so certain either, so we are thinking about getting the drink and sharing it to see if we like it. It's too much money to not like, but at least between the two of us it will be consumed. They have pumpkin drinks too, but I like plain pumpkin black coffee. No milks, no syrups, no sugar... just plain.  I'm listening to Halloween music now. Getting my spirit ready for the season. I'm a little afraid that my body chemistry is changing because the last haunted house we went to (last month), I had a constant very terrible headache that started while we were in line. I'm not sure if that's from drinking coffee all day instead of any water (which I won't do again for Halloween Horror Nights), or if it was caused by the flashing lights, or standing

Doggy Blues, Hiking Uphill and Writing

Watching:  Psyche the Musical Eating: Homemade Vegan Pizza Reading:  Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Pumpkin Pie Our baby girl isn't feeling so well. We had to take her to the vet and they did a procedure on her, but they did warn that she might need surgery. We're taking her back on Saturday. We were planning to go out of town, follow the caravan west to meet up with our fellow hippies, but it doesn't look like we'll be able to.  We've been working on some serious hiking. There are some hills up the street from where we live so we've been parking down hill and hiking up. The first time we did this, my calves were screaming that night. I had a Charlie horse that woke me up out of a dead sleep. We've done this hike now a few times and I'm doing better. No more pain. Pumpkins are finally in the store! We bought Pumpkin Chai Tea, pumpkin applesauce and pumpkin cereal. There is a gluten free pumpkin muffin mix but I don't know if it&#
