Garden Homes, Rummage Sales and Writing

Arizona was so much fun. We went for a total of four days and drove back on the fifth day. We saw so many people and I talked Emory into taking me to Goodwill where I bought tons of puzzles. I did go out to rummage sales on Saturday with the commune and found some pretty cool houses. If you click on this picture, you can see all the cool things in her garden.  I did find a total of eight shirts that I got for .50 cents a piece that look brand new. I've been wearing a few of them, but I can't wear the others until my cast is off. I think the shirts are boys, but maybe they are woman's. It's hard to tell.  Anne washed them up for me so I could bring them home clean and ready to wear. I also got some cute shorts for $1.00 and some hippy tye-dye pants that fit really nice, for a $1.00 that she washed up for me. I love clean clothes and I love inexpensive clothes. We have some real crazy weather out here in California. We have snow in places that we don't usually get sn

Dinner at Porter, High Priestess and Writing

We went to the Porter commune for dinner and it was so much fun. We had two bottles of wine and a cup of coffee. I don't know where the coffee came from. One minute we were drinking and I guess our host decided it was time to sober up. It was fun. The commune has puzzles that we had to pick up for Anne and they had one of my wish list puzzles!! They told me to take it. Wow, three wish list puzzles nabbed in one month and not for a lot of money, though the commune gave it to me for free but my other puzzles I got at a thrift store. My moon sister, who is a high priestess, sent me pictures from Bookman's. Lucky little ducky! I can't wait to shop there when we get out to AZ. We're going to meet her and her spouse for coffee and a good chat. She is going to volunteer at the Pagan Festival. I believe she reads people's tarot. She got me a really cool deck and I'm going to bring my decks out to read for Jeffery. He'll probably laugh because I'm pretty lame wh

Nothing Much Weekend, Layoffs Expected and Writing

We are trying to be careful with spending so we didn't do too much this weekend. We puzzled and watched horror movies. I've been a little scared to go walking since I constantly trip, but I really wanted to get out of the house so we went for a super long walk up around the college. Good thing we didn't go the other direction because I don't have the willpower not to go into Goodwill or the Granada Thrift shop. I seriously can't wait until I go to rummage sales out in Arizona with the Glendale commune. We did not go to any Super Bowl parties, though both communes were having parties, (the Glendale AZ commune and the Porter commune). We did have a drink though. My company is going through a reorganization so there are expected layoffs. We're getting a retention bonus if we stay until the bitter end, but I'm getting my resume ready in case I'm one of the 40% that's expected to get cut. My supervisor doesn't think it's going to effect our depart

Fractured Hand, Commune Puzzles and Writing

I went to Urgent Care and they took x-rays and told me I have a fracture in my hand. That would explain the sharp pain. The bruising is really starting to show everywhere on my body. I feel a little scared to go walking again because I'm constantly tripping on the uneven sidewalks. Our sidewalks are bad because of the earthquakes. But there is a chance that it's also due to the way I walk. This is my 1st broken bone. My first cast. We went and got this plastic to cover it so I can still shower which I'm grateful for. The bruising on my chin and kneecap still hurts!!  I'm wearing a tank top and it's kind of cold but I couldn't put the coat back on until my cast was dry. We're doing a deep clean which is hard with one hand. Emory has done almost everything because we're heading to Arizona for a couple of days and we have someone from the commune staying here at the apartment to watch our fur babies. She has major OCD so she will probably have our cupboards

Thrift Shop Puzzles, Eating Cement and Writing

I have a new book to read for the book club: The Talented Miss Farwell by Emily Gray Tedrowe. It's a pretty good book. I'm only on page 83. Emory and I spent the day doing our daily walk and I asked him to go into a few thrift shops to look at puzzles. The first shop had 1 of the puzzles on my wish list and the second shop had 2 on my wish list. So I ended up buying two puzzles on my wish list and two that were not on my wish list but looked cool to do. I sent the pictures to Anne and she's already got them on her to do list. I think the official term for this is "Dibs" 😂 Emory and I decided to walk to the store so on our way, we stopped at 7-Eleven and he got a lottery ticket and then we got to the store and I got a movie "Violent Night" which was pretty good. It's violent but also funny. Reminded us a lot of "Die Hard" but with Santa Claus. Good for people who like the action and we were watching the commentary so it sounds like stunt pe
