Watermelon Festival, Party at the Commune and Writing

We went to the watermelon festival. There was an all-you-can-eat watermelon tent and they had tons of thick slices they were giving away constantly, but it had tons of seeds. I don't think we usually get watermelon with seeds so I don't know if the tons of seeds were normal but the slices were so delicious.  We watched bicycle stunts. We listened to live music. We shopped. I bought some watermelon scented soap for myself and for Sue. She brought Emory and me back shirts from her trip and I wanted to share my experience with her too. We also bought a little seedless watermelon for $5. It's a weird shaped one so it's the one I picked. The Scottsdale commune had a party and sent me pictures. I really miss them. They were so nice and said that it would have been complete if Emory and I had been able to be there. I have a one way ticket to Arizona for a few days and then I'll be hitching a ride back to California with Steven, Ann and Little Miss who are coming up to the

Babysitting Sassy-Cat, Power Outtage and Writing

Babysitting Sassy for the two weeks haven't been hard until yesterday. The power around the area had been knocked out so at first I wasn't sure the code would even let us into the house. It did.  This morning the motor for the hot tub was running so we called the owners and they said not to worry about it so we're going to have to check on it when we get up there tonight to make sure it's off. If not, they're coming home tomorrow so that will be good. They can handle all that.  I really thought I would have a chance to work on the TEMU puzzles but we're working on a Star Wars puzzle that is really hard to put together because it's mostly ship and stars. lol. Emory is so cute. He knows all the names for the ships. I didn't realize he liked Star Wars so much. I always thought we were both Trekkies, but I learned two things about him this year, the second being that he loves cinnamon gum, it's his favorite. (hashtag: you think you know everything) 💋 I

Window Shopping Fail, More Coffee Please and Writing

I'm so far behind on my book club reading. I just got the book and I keep forgetting it at home so I haven't taken it with me to work or to the commune house.      The commune went to Canada so we're babysitting the pets. Love the fur babies.  My supervisor and I both like rummage sales. She looks for flower pots and things she can put flower pots on. I look for puzzles... however, I went shopping last weekend at a church sale and found sugar skull print leggings. I bought a red pair and a pink pair brand new, still in the package with their tags for $2 each. I also found a cute dish that says "cute daughter" ( .25 cents) which I think is probably for children, but it'd make a great soup bowl or a cereal bowl. It has a handle on the side. I didn't find any puzzles and I really wanted a espresso pot that goes on the burner.  I convinced Emory to go window shopping at my favorite thrift store which he unwittingly helped me get super indecisive about all the
