Sunny Hot Arizona Weather, Spicy Cooking Oils and Writing

I had such a great time in Arizona! I think the weather was about 70ish, (maybe a little higher) and no coats were needed. Darleen sent pictures of the Porter commune with everyone lounging on the deck. I guess I could have sent her a picture of us at the pool. There were a lot of people with gifts at the mantel. I love watching people unwrap gifts. Ann gave us this ball that floats in the air with a little motor. It's really fun and we had a great time playing with it. She also gave the same gift to Steven and to some young adults at another household.  Farmer Bill made his own spicy cooking oils to cook with and gave me a jar. He said it's really hot so to proceed with caution. I stuck it in my purse and then when we were heading over the California/Arizona boarder, I told Emory we had contraband. 😂 I'm just wondering how hot did he make this because they don't horse around with their hot sauces at that commune.  Steven eats hot sauce. Maybe I should have left a litt

Porter Commune Gift Exchange, Spring Roll Making and Writing

We brought all the gifts from the Porter commune to take to the Glendale commune and then Sue called and wanted me to bring a few of the gifts back up. They want to open presents between us. I got everyone something small but useful. The biggest box on the bottom of that pile is stuffed full of gifts for the Glendale commune from the Porter commune. Emory and I hauled most of the Porter communes gifts up in November. Emory and I have our own huge box for the Glendale/ Scottsdale/ Chandler communes. It's fun! 😊 I celebrate Santa Claus and Yule! Sue gave me a sweater! It's so pretty and feminine. She gave Emory a gift card to the car wash which he loves! I was pretty excited on that one when she told me she was thinking about giving it to him. She also gave us coffee! I love coffee and I can't wait to drink this! Which won't take too long because I drink about 4 to 5 cups of black coffee a day. I'm not into cream and sugar. I do think I might have a coffee addictio

New Girl at Work, Holiday with the Commune and Writing

We have a new person at work. It's been fun having another person to do the job with, though she's learning something new that I was never trained on so I can't help her. She's got an interest in the mail clerk though she says she doesn't, but she notices such little details about him. The writer in me thinks it's a budding character romance, but truthfully, she said that dating in the office was not her policy. I agree that it can get too messy. The mail clerk wants me to bring cookies or brownies. I should have asked if he likes nuts in his brownies. The new girl though told him I'm vegan so he might not like what I cook. Oh well... Though he did say he was vegan for a year with his cousin. I think they misunderstand the dynamics of what being vegan is, since they weren't doing it for the animals. I'd personally say that maybe he was plant base considering that it was a health issue and once the health issue was over, they went back to eating like

Black Box Theater, ThanksLiving and Writing

Sue got Emory and me tickets for Zombie Joes Underground Theater. It's a black box theater. The stage is level with the seats. We sat in the front row and to the side. Boy was that crazy! The super sexy women were dancing all over Emory. It was funny and unexpected and Emory is such a good sport. At one point the only guy in the show came out dressed like a HOT DIRTY Santa Claus and he grabbed me to dance with. I was a little thrown back but I did my best to dance too. I told all this to Ann and she said: "I hope you danced dirty because I've seen you do it." I think she's talking about my wedding day. I think we might have been a little too zealous in our dancing. Anyways, that's when he backed me into my chair and he took a seat in Emory's lap and Emory was startled. Boy I wish I had my phone for that selfie.  The show was dark and sexy, but a lot of DARK elements. We like the strange so it was good for us. This was the Christmas special so all the girls

Mud Bath, Massages and Writing

I had so much fun with the commune ladies at a day spa. We had massages, facials and we did this thing called the "grotto" where they put hot lotion all over your body and you go into this heat room. I was the only person to sit down and I regretted it because it leaves goo everywhere. It was a little gross, but afterwards you get a very warm shower with water spraying above and on the sides of you.  The water turned cold which was a warning that we were taking too long, but Sue said she turned the water off and back on and got a warm shower again. I just huffed through it.  Afterwards you go into another room with your towel and you get hot tea and a green apple. I got both, but the other ladies don't like apples, which is funny to me. I loved the hot tea and then afterwards we went back out and two of the ladies had to get their massages.  Rose went to the Roman baths and I stayed topside to watch all the bags. It was a very nice day. I wish I took more photos. I love b
