Outdoor Activities, Emory Eating and NaNoWriMo Fail??

Watching:  Avenue 5 (Season 2) Eating: Beans and Rice (for the rest of the week) Reading:  A Local Habitation by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser: apple pie  I have a huge outdoor activity coming up that requires 2 swimsuits! Yes 2 because one will get muddy. Thanks to the caravan for planning this fun little frolic. I packed a bag which includes two pairs of sweatpants, a bathing suit cover, which seems like nothing if the weather stays chilly. I talked with Sue who said I could wear one of her (very new unworn) swimsuits if mine don't fit me. I'm really nervous about getting into MY SWIMSUITS because one shows my butt crack and the other if not tied correctly will show my top half better than I'd care for.  The Porter commune offered a "coffee bar" to entice everyone to be up early. I will try to get there at 6:30am on the dot because we are leaving at 7:00am to get to this location that has the mud bathes. I want to take pictures but we'll see. I'm going t...

AMC Interview with a Vampire, Winter Holidays and NaNoWriMo

Watching:  AMC Interview with a Vampire Eating: Tortilla Soup Reading:  A Local Habitation by Seanan McGuire   Oil Diffuser:  Teak Wood My girl friend wants us to watch the AMC Interview with a Vampire and tell her if it's good, which is tricky for me. I always want to jump in with the storyline, being of a storyline mindset. I haven't told her much, just that the timeframe seems different, which Emory confirmed, it is. At first I wasn't sure I really liked the updates (it seems to be very bloody), but as we get farther into it, I am caught up with the story and I want another one after this season ends. So I guess that makes it a success to me. Just to be clear, vampires are not my favorite monster, werewolves are. Something about all the blood sucking with vampires turns my stomach. I think it's too precision-like with the teeth, like needles drawing blood out of the veins... We made ourselves some late night cake, chocolate with white frosting. We also got cranber...

Arizona Communes, Youth Theater and NaNoWriMo

I had so much fun in Arizona. Where to start with the story.... We visited three communes. They are not close to each other, so we had a bit of a drive. I gave Farmer Bill the hot pepper kit I got for the Scottsdale commune. Poppy seemed excited about it. I hope they actually use it. Farmer Bill told me that he was taking some of the pepper seeds to plant and add to his garden! I hope he actually made some sauce too. We visited Jeffrey and made him our famous chili. He wanted to try vegan chili so Emory and I added a little something extra - Beyond Meat! We usually don't add meat substitutes to our chili but we've done it in the past and it does have a little something extra and Jeffrey wanted to try the Beyond meat. He says he loved it but it was Ann who went back for seconds. (Oh! Ann visited that commune too, but took her own car because she had to head to work) It's one of our favorite recipes. I think we'll make him Beyond Meat burgers next time so he can have the ...
