Wineries, Some Photos and Writing

I had such a fun weekend. We went up to the wineries with the Porter commune. It's nice having so many people around. We ate and drank and had a great time. I took more photos because Sue spilled sauce all over her shirt and that was pretty funny. She laughed but I snapped a photo of that. We were at the beach house and this beautiful bird was in the yard picking sticks up. That was fun to watch for a little bit. Writing update: Started chapter 6 of the NaNoWriMo project. Yep, still working on this little sucker! I won't give up, but mostly because I have people waiting for chapters. That always helps with encouragement when people are waiting to read.

Book Club Reading, Raining Again and Writing

Book Club book: The Second Life of Mirielle West. It's such a good book. I'm halfway through it and though the main character drives me nuts at times because she's so uppity, I really love the transformation she's going through with this situation.  It's raining again. Finally because it's going to be another cold week and with the rain the forecast is also saying snow. There won't be snow in our area. I can't explain why I believe that, but last time the forecast said snow, there just wasn't in our area. Same with flooding, thank Goddess.  This is an older picture. I took this a few weeks ago when the weather was crummy and then it cleared long enough for a picture than got crummy again. I love the this picture because the sun is just so big and beautiful.  We start...

Cold Apartment, Broken Hot Tub and Writing

Our heater isn't working and there's been a cold snap coming through California. The apartment office said that they couldn't fix it until after the rain so we've been using space heaters. (Don't tell my mom because she hates space heaters). However, our apartment without the heaters has been staying at 70 degrees which isn't bad.  We decided to get into the hot tube and when we stepped into it, it was disappointing and Emory said the buttons were missing. The only thing working were the bubbles. It wasn't terribly cold, but it was like stepping into bathwater that sat overnight. It was neutral, but not warm enough to warrant sitting outside in the cold.  Then on Sunday, we decided to go for a walk because the weather was 56 degrees. There was a small chance of rain, but as we walked, it started raining on us. We were soaked by the time we made it around the four mile radius. We had to get into warm clothes, drink tea and turn our space heater on.  My cast ...
