On Christmas Eve, I was over helping Sue chop veggies (tomatoes and onions) for a Cuban salad that she was taking to a friend's party. She was also bringing wine for the host which I agree is a great gift, but I told her to call us if she drinks. She said she's not going to drink and she's true to her word, so no worries there.
Anyways, we're chopping away and I asked her how she liked our gift which I gave WRAPPED to her over the weekend. She said she thought it was cute. I laughed because of course she didn't wait for Christmas Eve or even Christmas to unwrap it. Well, at least I didn't have to wait to talk to her about it. I was afraid she'd find it stupid or worse, frivolous because she's 100% a minimalist.
Steven said for Christmas Eve, it's t-shirt and jeans weather at 6pm at night in Arizona. I had to wear a sweatshirt when I left the house out here in California because the weather is getting a little chilly at night. I had a coworker who said that they weren't cooking because in Arizona it's nearly 80 degrees. I had to check with Ann and she said it's been in the 80's most of last week.
We never made it to the Elf Bar this month. Too many things were happening so I'm super bummed.
There is a lot happening next year. I'm trying to plan a vacation to Colorado. I think we're actually going to do it this time, unless something really unexpected happens.
Ann says she has a digital picture frame that I can have. I've been poaching pictures from my family for a long time, (nieces and nephews grow up so quickly) and I need something that will display all these great moments. I also have vacation photos that I'd like to see on a rotating picture frame and candid photos (which I just took a look at the photo gallery on Emory's phone and he has a bunch of silly photos he took of me when I wasn't aware... 😂)
I got these 5 year journals that I might have already talked about. They have a box so you can put the year so page one for example: January 1st (2025-2029) and each year has 5 lines so you just jot something down for the day. I think this will be a really neat way to look back and see 5 years in a row of each date. Plus it'll be neat to have the books down the road.
Writing Update:
Working on the next chapter for B.C. I finally see an ending on this project. That's the bad thing about writing on the seat of your pants. I usually like to outline, but lately, I like the thrill of not knowing and brainstorming on the cuff.
F.C.K.P. I have some ideas for this one. I also have a beta reader because this is one of those few projects that I could get a reader on and my reader wrote something super nice to me so I feel like I should finish the story quicker for them. I usually have so many projects that it takes a long time to finish anything.
C. Just posted another chapter of this up and it was well received.
