My to-be-read list is growing so much. I have been listening to books on Libby and must admit, I get so caught up in the story that I'll forget what I'm doing. Ann and Sue are reading a lot of the same books and think I would enjoy them. I like more fantasy than suspense. They like the stories that don't have vampires and fairies.... I think that's nuts. The world is too real as it is. I want to be captivated by stories that are a little unrealistic.
I'm listening to Taylor Spratt's "Poison Penitentiary Series" book 2 right now. It's so good. When I listened to book one, I was thinking, "Is this a reverse harem?" Yes. Yes, it is. I really love the world-building. It's like Prison Break but with fantasy creatures. I am really enjoying the story, and I think Taylor Spratt did a really good job.
I believe Emory might like these books. He's the one who got me addicted to Laurell K Hamilton. He's reading a book right now that he says is completely outside his norm, but he thinks I would like it. I think we should make a channel where he addresses the dark romance novels that he's reading. It would be so funny to hear his opinions on dark romance books.
My favorite bartender is going on vacation, so I might not see her when we head to Arizona. We're going to have coffee with a really awesome neighbor from our old neighborhood. I went dancing with him a few times. Cool your jets, it was square dancing! I needed a partner, and he needed a partner. I would love to visit the high priestess if we have time. She read my cards for me the last time we were together. I've got to meditate more and not ignore the visions I'm having in my dreams.
I had waffles for dinner and popcorn for a snack. I'm almost finished with the puzzle we're working on. I need to get everything ready for the puzzle exchange.
Writing Update:
I have now decided to put C and F.C. on hiatus. I will go back to finish them, maybe in a year. I want to focus on a handful of stories that I've started writing.
B.N.F. This is a weird one. I'm on page 34 in my edits, and I feel like it moved very fast. I do see a few weaknesses that should probably be addressed. I'm going over this once to just make a few line edits and to reacquaint myself with the storyline.
I wrote this almost 20 years ago. I was talking to Emory about this story, and he said, "Oh, was this the one where you made the sign and danced on the beach when you finished it?" Yes! I did that. This was my NaNoWriMo project and the first one I've finished in all the years I've done it.
He then said, "Didn't you write 50,000 words really fast? Like in two weeks, I believe." Again! Yes! This was a very fast story. So right now, up to page 34 looks okay.
I need to see how convoluted it is when I'm done with my edits. This really might not be able to go anywhere. I might just post it on Patreon. It is vampires in the 1890's. It is gay romance. There is so much room to add details. I've been deleting portions and adding information in.
