I'm BACK!!
What a wonderful trip. It was pretty freaking hot as expected. I brought two pairs of shorts on my trip, but the inside of the buildings is pretty cool, except for the massage parlor. It was warm there.
Okay, so the information on the Glendale commune. I thought I'd be bunking with someone because it's always pretty crowded there, but I had my own room, which was good because sometimes I need a "time out" where I can just be by myself. "Self" time at the commune is fairly rare.
I got in pretty late, and Steven and Ann picked me up. There was a crash on the freeway which slowed traffic down, but the company I had on the journey to the commune was excellent. I gave Steven the cookies I bought him, and since they had wheat in them and I can't eat them, it was nice watching him enjoy the cookies. He said they were really good.
I had a glass of wine that night and just stayed up until midnight with everyone just chatting away. I thought I would be the first person up in the morning, because Mr. Ollie came in to say good morning. His collar woke me up before he jumped on the bed to say hello. He's such a good boy. I can't tell if he loves me because I smell like Emory, since he loves Emory to death. He climbs all over Emory when he's there.
Ann and I had coffee, and then we went to Goodwill. I bought so many books. I wasn't sure how I was going to get them all in my suitcase. I also bought a sign that talks about how great wine is. Then I went to get a massage at this little tiny parlor. It was super relaxing and I talked with the massage therapist for about twenty minutes. (Ann thinks the massage therapist likes Steven.)
Afterwards, I ran to Chandler with Steven to meet up with some of the commune. We went out for lunch at Pita Jungle. Steven had to finish my plate because I got full. Then we went to this market, which was so much fun. I picked up three waterproof stickers that were monsters, and Steven bought them for me, and bought some stuff for Leila. I ended up going and getting Steven some cookies as a thank you. He said the cookies were fantastic.
We then went to a shirt store and got Jeffrey an Elvira shirt. Steven got an Elvira shirt that was purple for himself, and he said he might be too shy to wear it. I got Emory a White Zombie shirt that is so freaking cool. It's black and bright green. We ended up going to Terror Trader next and saw some super cool things there. I got the best photos, and I really wanted to buy something, but again, my suitcase was so small.
We ended up going to see our next commune friend and got Cava for dinner. We ended up going to Bath and Body to get some air fresheners for Ann. She asked for them, so I got her five small little jars. She asked for NOTHING with vanilla, which was a hard go because everything had vanilla in it, but I finally found things that were sweet with no vanilla undertones. We did a little more shopping, and then we went to see Steven's girlfriend. She's so cute!
The next day, Ann and I went to Goodwill again and I found so many clothes. I wanted to find girly shorts, but I ended up finding a dress, a shirt, and some hippy pants that she said really looked like me. We brought them home, and then we went to see a play called "Thirteen," which was youth theater and so bloody cute. We went to another Goodwill after that, but we couldn't find anything worth nabbing. I did find a California sweater, but it was white, and I don't really like white clothing because it gets dirty so quickly. Easy to stain.
The next day, Steven and I went to see Jeffrey. We bought Jeffrey some more shirts and he really seemed to like everything we found. It was really nice. He talks a lot about bands, so we got him a guitar shirt, a shirt that says, "I might be old but I saw all the cool bands," and a Grateful Dead shirt and the Elvira shirt. We had lunch with him and watched John Wick, then we were off again because we told Lucile that we'd be home for dinner.
I puzzled a lot over the weekend. Ann and I went to Ross so I could get her a gift for her birthday. I found another shirt for Emory, and I got clothes for me, and I picked up a few items that Ann really wanted. We then went home and switched out a rug for her living room. I've never been so winded in my life. Glad I work out so I could help. The rug was heavy, and so was the furniture.
My flight back to Los Angeles was okay. There was this super big WWE-looking fighter guy on the flight. I told Emory I almost wanted a picture with him, just because, but I couldn't really find an excuse for the picture. I didn't want to be weird. I'm always weird, so I didn't want to be even more weird.
My suitcase was so freaking heavy that I needed help getting it into a bin.
Anyways, I'm home now, but we've been talking about moving back. It's just Arizona is so hot, and everything looks dead. I got off the plane and was so surprised by how much cooler California weather is. It's really nice.
Okay. So I'm back to the grind.
Writing Update:
Werewolf Untitled: (omega/beta/alpha) I have rewritten the first chapter because I wrote myself into a block and I wanted to go back to the original idea that I'd started years ago. It's a little messy. My characters have original names, but these filler names will have to be changed here shortly.
