Finally watched "The Mean One." It's been on my watch list since the day I saw it advertised, but I wanted to wait until Prime offered it for free. It's such a toss up (sometimes) with horror movies. You never know what you're going to get; if it's going to be any good.
This was a really fun horror movie. The makeup was so stellar. I had so many theories but of course, I was wrong, which was fine because I love being surprised. The script/acting/camera angles all good quality. I would purchase this movie for sure!
The Final Girl tasting room has art that are faces of the "final girls" with the other half of the face being the antagonist they are up against. I would love to see this movie "The Mean One" on the tasting room wall. I really need some $$$ so I can buy those paintings. If I had to chose just one... well, nuts. What would I possibly choose? Look it up by putting in "Final Girl vs Villains." I NEED this art for my Halloween room.
Sue picked me up for the weekend and we went to Oxnard and hung out with the commune for a little bit. I had a glass of wine and we talked about vacations. They are going on a vacation soon and it's going to be cold for them. They're all packing winter/snow clothes. I asked Ann if it was going to snow, because she's going with the commune. She doesn't know but it might rain.
Just to note, California and Arizona have pretty mild winters, so I can picture Ann not dressing warm enough. Once, when I was younger, we went to Alaska, and Ann and I brought sweaters and light coats. BOY! It was freaking cold and we needed to buy jackets. I left my stuff with Ann so I wonder if she still has it all these years later. What comes into the commune becomes commune property and everyone uses it. 😄
The commune invited Emory and me to go to New Orleans with them. That might be fun. Mr. M plans everything out to the letter. We read a book about leprosy communities and there is one in Louisiana that Darlene wants to go see and I agree that would be so historic and interesting. So we might go for a few days just to check everything out. Plus, they do all the cool stuff when they travel. They go on bike rides, ghost tours, national parks, etc. I don't know if I'm healthy enough for a bike tour, but why not try?
So back to Oxnard and Downtown Ventura. Sue and I got lunch and shopped. She bought Emory and me these super cute coasters for our drinks at this little tucked away shop. We stopped by another store that we'd never seen before but the shop was way too expensive. They were selling vests for $189.00. That's too much for the fabric.
Writing Update:
C: chapter 11 is being edited now. I'm a little slow because I like to reword and rework portions and then I have to reread to make sure that the cuts make sense.
F.C. : chapter 6 is being edited. It's about the right length word wise but I need to reread it.
Untitled Alpha/Omega: chapter 2. I'm at a weird spot with this because I feel a little stuck so I had to reread and work it a little to get the flow since I did take a bit of a break on this. I have no words for what holds me up because its not really writer's block, its just that moment when I seriously doubt my reason for even existing.
